Turbine: AD 5-135
Installed capacity: 350 MW
Electricity supply: 350,000 households
350 MW off the coast of Rügen island (Germany)
Situated at approximately 35km off the German island of Rügen, Wikinger will be Germany’s deepest water wind power project, with depths ranging between 37 and 43 meters. Also, the region is buffeted by strong winds speeding though at an average of 10 m/s.
The wind farm will be equipped with 70 AD 5-135 turbines for a total of 350 MW, enough to supply electricity to around 350,000 German households once it is commissioned in 2017. On top of that, Adwen will provide maintenance services for five years.
All the turbines, which will be installed on four-legged jacket foundations, are being manufactured at our German plants: Bremerhaven for the nacelles and Stade for the blades.
